Newstead College provides education for approximately 700 Year 11 and 12 students on either academic or vocational pathways. Our safe supportive College provides a rich learning environment for all students to complete their secondary education and gain the skills needed to meet the goals outlined in their pathway plans.
Students are supported to gain either tertiary entrance requirements (ATAR) or vocational certificates alongside the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE). Our College culture is one where students are strongly encouraged to contribute to the wider community via participating in cultural programs, volunteering work placements and fund-raising events.
Newstead College was built in 1997 on a single level providing easy access to students with mobility problems. It has an extensive wired and wireless computer network, specialist language facilities, photography & art suites, gym & weights room, auditorium, recording & dance studios, industrial kitchen, woodwork facilities, well-equipped science laboratories & modern library facilities.
Newstead College prides itself on its international student program for fee paying and exchange students which provides support and educational and cultural experiences whilst they study with us.
